Hi there! I’m Ally, an American multidisciplinary musician based in London.

Let me set the scene.

From my Blues roots in Memphis to my formative years in Nashville, my musical journey began gradually, in small yet significant lightbulb moments. As a 12-year-old, for instance, I was riding home from school, absently singing along to the radio, when suddenly I realized I was naturally harmonizing with the melody of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” I thought it was the coolest thing ever. My mom signed me up for voice lessons a few weeks later.

Or, you could say my journey began when I was just four. From the next room, my mom heard me in the bathtub by myself, splashing along and singing a Beach Boys song (she quickly grabbed her camcorder to document it).

The common thread between these isolated moments of inspiration is the spark they ignited within me: that inseparable pull to the power of the human voice to move people and wholly captivate the human heart. Whenever the spark may have been kindled within me, the flame has not been extinguished since, and I doubt it ever will be.

Fast forward to now…

Now, I’m officially a Londoner. In 2023, I received my Master of Arts degree in Voice & Opera and graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music. There, I was the recipient of the Fernside Award, a prestigious scholarship funded by a private donor, and I was accepted into the Preparatory Opera cohort, which allowed 12 Master’s students to work collaboratively with Royal Academy Opera in their productions and scenes programs.

I currently work as the Social Media Editor of Classic FM, managing and creating content for their ultra-popular social media platforms. I also work for Hi Lo Singers, an agency that pairs clients with singers to record vocals for advertisements and perform at sports matches, and teach private voice lessons to children in London.

Before moving across the pond, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Journalism with an Advertising/PR focus.

In addition to training as a classical soprano, I also write my own music. In 2023, I released my debut album, In Plain Sight, and I regularly perform my music at gigs throughout the UK and US. You can check out more of that stuff here.

I’m a fervent believer in the transformative power of song, and regardless of what the future holds, music will always have a hold on my heart.

If I’m not singing somewhere, you can find me reading in Hampstead Heath, planning my next traveling adventure, or curating (too many) niche Spotify playlists.
