Hi there! I’m Ally, a multidisciplinary musician. I live for meaningful storytelling.

Let me set the scene.

From my Blues roots in Memphis to my formative years in Nashville, my musical journey began gradually in small epiphanies sprinkled throughout the years. As a 12-year-old, for instance, I was riding home from school, absently singing along to the radio, when suddenly I realized I was naturally harmonizing with the melody of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” I thought it was the coolest thing ever. My mom signed me up for voice lessons a few weeks later.

Or, you could say my journey began when I was just four. From the next room, my mom heard me in the bathtub by myself, splashing along and singing a Beach Boys song (she quickly grabbed her camcorder to document it). Or, yet another defining moment comes to mind: the first musical I ever saw. Sitting in the fifth row of Les Misérables on Broadway at age 16, I was a weepy, mesmerized mess after the final curtain dropped.

The common thread between these isolated moments of inspiration is the spark they flickered inside me: that inseparable pull to the power of the human voice to move people and wholly captivate the human heart. Whenever the spark may have been ignited within me, the flame has not been extinguished since, and I doubt it ever will be.

Fast forward to now:

Now, I’m officially a Londoner. I’ve just received my Master of Arts degree in Voice & Opera and graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music. There, I was the recipient of the Fernside Award, a prestigious half-scholarship funded by a private donor, and I was accepted into the selective Preparatory Opera cohort, which allowed 12 Master’s students to work collaboratively with Royal Academy Opera in their productions and scenes programs.

I’ve just started a position as the Social Media Editor of Classic FM, managing and creating content for their ultra-popular social media platforms. I also work with Hi Lo Singers, a company that pairs singers with clients to record vocals for advertisements and perform national anthems at sports matches.

Before moving across the pond, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Journalism with an Advertising/PR focus.

In addition to training as a classical soprano, I also write music. I’ve just released my debut album, In Plain Sight. You can check out more of that stuff here. I’m a fervent believer in the transformative power of song, and regardless of what the future holds, music will always have a hold on my heart.

If I’m not singing somewhere, you can find me reading in Hampstead Heath, planning my next traveling adventure, or curating (too many) niche Spotify playlists.
